An 18-year-old rape victim seeks the help of PTV 4’s public service program Kilos Pronto hosted by veteran broadcasters Alex Santos and brothers Ben and Erwin Tulfo to complain both the rapists and the police officers who failed to assist her complaint.
According to the alias Trina, on February 28, 2017, she joined her friend Ken who she met while having an on-the-job training when the latter invited her for a drinking session, Ken brought her in a friend’s house introduced to her as Mc Karl.
But after a few shots, Trina started feeling dizzy and eventually lost consciousness. The following day, she woke up from the slap and kick of Mc Karl’s girlfriend and was surprised to see her lying naked with the two guy.
Trina suspected that Ken and Mc Karl poured vetsin or monosodium glutamate on her drinks and sexually abused her while she is out of her mind.
She ran back home yet she hide the incident from her parents, after a week, she confessed what happened to her teacher who helped her relay the problem to her parents.
On March 8, 2018, Trina together with her parents went to San Juan police station to file a complaint and was assisted by PO3 Golda Jaug who was not accommodating enough to assist their complaint, she even asked for unnecessary documents like ID, birth certificate, and school records before filing the complaint.
When they went back at the police station to present Trina’s medico-legal showing she was indeed raped, the complainants saw Ken and Mc Karl bringing food in the same police station making them think that the suspects are bribing the investigators.
The program then contacted San Juan City police chief Supt. Chito Bersaluna who confirmed that PO3 Jaug is the station’s Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) investigator.
They also contacted PNP’s WCPD Chief Supt. Emma Libunao and assisted Trina and her parents in filing a formal complaint against the suspects and PO3 Jaug.
